Frequently asked questions

What does "lowest score invited" mean?

In each round, IRCC invites the highest-ranking eligible candidates until it reaches the number of invitations it set for that round. The lowest score invited is the CRS score of the last candidate invited. IRCC's tie-breaking rule applies when several candidates share that score: the cut-off then depends on the date and time they submitted their Express Entry profiles.

Why are the scores so different between round types?

Each round is open only to candidates who qualify for it. A provincial nominee round invites candidates who hold a provincial nomination, which adds 600 points to their score, so its cut-off is far higher. A category-based round, such as healthcare or French-language proficiency, invites only candidates who meet that category's conditions, so its cut-off reflects that smaller group.

Does a score above the latest cut-off mean I will be invited?

No. A cut-off describes one past round. IRCC decides whether to hold a round, which type it is, how many invitations to issue, and who qualifies. The next cut-off can be higher or lower, and a round may never include your profile type.

Where does this data come from, and how current is it?

It comes from the machine-readable list that powers IRCC's own rounds of invitations page. This page is a copy taken on October 8, 2026, when the newest round was number 447 on October 1, 2026. It is refreshed by hand, not live, so IRCC's page is the place to check for anything newer.
